Fax

I cannot blame myself for being challenged in terms being updated in new trends of technology already for many years. I once came to visit my friend's office in a big market research company, just to talk about the request he made. He was asking me to fax to him our invitation and other graduation papers in order for him to be included in our website which we are about to launch.

As an IT person in the office, he showed to me the latest trends in technology providers of faxing and imaging solutions. The entire people in the office were interconnected, most of them talk online with each other, hence no need to stand or use local telephone.

He explained to me that they are using fax server which is a set of software running on a server computer which is equipped with one or more fax-capable modems attached to telephone lines. Software modem technology to transmit the signal over an IP network. A fax over ip, wow! This one accepts documents, converts them into faxes, and transmit them, as well as to receive fax calls and either store the incoming documents or pass them.

with a big company like them heavy fax traffic. The computer server can handle them all.

VoIP fax sending and receiving is one of the technical difficulties that has been solved also. They save so much money out of it, before they rely on other company or internet fax provider which cost them more money. Now they can send and received faxes with out leaving their disc, Any document from the computer can be fax with out printing it first before sending, documents faxed are neat and legible, Big company like them find this more convenient and cost effective than using the traditional fax system. What a technology.
