Computer Memory

I use to have a very slow computer. Then a friend told me I need a larger computer memory. I thought at first that kind of memory is for storage, but now I know it is related to the speed of computer. A larger computer memory, means a fast processing computer.

I am a graduate of computer engineering, but up to now, there are still terms that confuses me.
