My Dad and his view of real estate property

My father loves buying property and I guess for people like him, it is best to choose ones that are in foreclosure, like Outer banks foreclosures because it will be much cheaper than regular property sale on the market. My dad believes that the worth of property just increases as time pass, and so it is the best thing one could give to their loved one. However, thinking about it, with property comes taxes, and I just don’t know how to deal with it.
