I am a photographer and I always bring my cameras with me as well as my 3 tripods: a local one and my 2 velbon tripods which were given me by my aunt from the United States. I always bring 2 velbon tripods for my 2 camera s and another one for my video.
I love my Velbon tripods Ultra MAXiSF because with it, you can fold it in just 12.8 inches. You can carry it anyway you want. With the height of 48 inches and it can carry my lite Canon 888 due to its light weight (about 5lbs. and you will not suffer any back pain because you can adjust its height until 6 feet and 2 inc hes.
But I love my velbon tripods PH-250 Magnesium more. It has a 3-Way Pan versatility. Better if you're taking pictures that are in action like in sports photography because you can tilt its head,. This tripod carr ies my old Canon AE1 all steel camera and even if you have big lens, it can support 11 lbs of weight.
As a photographer, I learned that you must always have ready cameras, films, baterry, flash and tripods. And of course always bring extra of these.
