Hair Loss

When I was younger, there is no advertisement on TV about a shampoo for hair loss, or any hair loss cure; instead it is all about shiny hair. Today, advertisement on shampoo would be about hair loss if not dandruff. I wonder why this is. Is it because a lot of people now are losing hair? I know I am one of those people, but why? What is causing this? It makes me wonder, what would be the next of shampoo advertisement would be about?
